Working Families Tax Credit Virtual Rally

  • Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility 2524 16th Avenue South, Ste 300 Seattle, WA, 98144 United States (map)

Join the Working Families Tax Credit Coalition on Zoom to celebrate our historic progress and to get HB 1297 across the finish line!

Washington has the most upside-down tax code in the nation, with families living on the lowest incomes paying up to six times more as a share of their income in taxes compared with the wealthiest Washingtonians. With the economic impact of COVID-19 continuing to harm our state's most vulnerable, those already facing hardship due to this tax structure have an even greater need for policies that put cash back in their pockets.

The Working Families Tax Credit would put hundreds of dollars back into the pockets of nearly 500,000 Washingtonians in the form of income-based tax rebates.

The credit would provide those eligible for the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and those that file their taxes using an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) with a $500 direct payment plus an additional amount for those with children.

Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility is a proud member of the Working Families Tax Credit Coalition and is honored to partner with a variety of organizations around the state who all know that we must get cash to those most harmed by the health and economic crises of COVID-19. This cash represents a chance for families to make ends meet, push through to the next stimulus package, and keep their families housed, safe, and fed.
