Safeguarding Health and Preventing Nuclear Catastrophe

Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility (WPSR) is sponsoring an address at the University of Washington by Dr. Tilman Ruff entitled “Safeguarding Health and Preventing Nuclear Catastrophe.” Dr. Ruff will address the issue of the humanitarian risks from nuclear weapons and the remarkable 2017 passage of the UN treaty banning nuclear weapons.

We invite you to hear Dr. Ruff and participate in a discussion on the status of nuclear risks on November 8th from 6:30-8:00 pm. It will be held in Foege Auditorium (S-060) at William H. Foege Hall, University of Washington, 3720 15th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98105.  

Dr. Tilman Ruff is Co-President of International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW, Nobel Peace Prize recipient in 1985) and co-founder of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN, Nobel Peace Prize recipient in 2017). He is Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne’s Nossal Institute for Global Health.
