NO NUKES! Protect Our Planet Rally
Presented by Washington Against Nuclear Weapons and our friends and colleagues at Seattle Indivisible, Seattle Anti-War Coalition, and Washington Poor People’s Campaign.

Rally with the Seattle Anti-War Coalition and Seattle Indivisible, together with representatives from Washington Against Nuclear Weapons Coalition and the Washington Poor Peoples’ Campaign, as we call on our President and Congressional representatives to stop funding nuclear weapons and endless wars and move our tax dollars to protect our planet and people. 

Our state and world is on fire and flooding. Poor people across our planet cannot get vaccinated against a global pandemic of CoViD-19. We say we want peace, and to move our federal funds from nuclear weapons and wars to all peoples’ needs. 

Our Senate just approved $777.9 Billion in the 2022 budget allocating more than half of our nation’s budget for militarism and defense; this is $25 Billion more than last year.  We know this way doesn’t lead to peace, security, democracy, and sustainability.

Just days before the annual commemoration of the first nuclear bomb that devastated Hiroshima, Japan on Aug. 6th, 1945, we will join together and call on President Biden, and our Congress to stop funding new nuclear weapons and instead transition to a more just, democratic, sustainable economy and world. We must fund human and environmental needs now.
