Housing Injustice: The Silent Killer of People with Disabilities
a Building Tenant Power workshop
Presented by our friends and colleagues at
Be:Seattle

At this workshop, we’ll discuss what is considered a “reasonable accommodation,” the availability of accessible housing in the city, and the difficulties facing people with disabilities when it comes to defending their rights as renters. Why do people with disabilities face homelessness at significantly higher rates? How are we failing them and what are the solutions? We’ll hear testimonies from people with lived experience and discuss how we can ensure that we are including people with disabilities as we grow our power as renters!

This is the eighth workshop in Be:Seattle's Building Tenant Power workshop series. Each workshop is designed to stand alone (so newcomers are welcome!); however, they are intended to build our skills, knowledge, and renter power over the course of the year, meaning we encourage you to come to the entire series! The workshops are held on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 6:00 PM.
