What can we do as young people in the face of all these climate disasters?

There's so much smoke from wildfires on the West Coast that it's made sunsets in New York City blood red and hazy. Hundreds of people have died from heat stroke or flooding -- especially migrant farmworkers, the unhoused, and incarcerated people. Literally tons of fish have died and washed up on coasts and salmon are being cooked alive in their native rivers.

This is all after a global pandemic that left communities across the country financially and emotionally devastated. And our government is stuck in debates about if our country can 'afford' to respond to the crisis.

It's easy to feel alone, hopeless, or resigned. But don't be a doomer! Sunrise is a community of young people building community and power in the face of these too-preventable climate disasters.
