Legislative Advocacy From Behind The Screen

* Applying the healthcare voice to advocacy in Olympia *

Join us for a special training from WPSR's Tesia Wood, MA (Economic Inequity & Health Program Manager) and Nick Manning, MPA (Climate & Health Program Manager).

This training is designed for healthcare professionals and students to more deftly understand how to engage their elected officials during the 2021 Washington Legislative Session.

Tesia and Nick will talk participants through the mechanics of state-level policy making and how you can engage with this and use the healthcare voice and your expertise and experience in public health and medicine to effect change.

Most state government business is being conducted remotely this winter and so we must be flexible in how we use our time, voices, energy, expertise, and activism to affect change and influence policymakers.

Lobbying for progressive policies that protect our environment, address the climate crisis, repair our broken tax code, and set us on a sustainable path towards economic recovery IS possible from behind a screen!

Join us, hear from medical professionals & WPSR advocates and WPSR staff, have your questions answered, and prepare yourself to plug into the policymaking process.
