From Hiroshima to Hope Lantern Ceremony

From Hiroshima to Hope is an annual lantern floating ceremony, in honor of victims of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and all victims of war. From Hiroshima to Hope has been created by local peace, faith and community organizations every year since 1984, the Seattle event is the oldest and largest anywhere outside Japan. More than a thousand attendees participated again last year.

WHEN: AUGUST 6TH, STARTING AT 6:00 PM.

6 PM   GATHERING, LANTERN PREPARATION, PICNICKING, MUSIC

6:45 PM - music by Kuniko and Marcia Takamura, koto.

7 PM – Program

8:15 PM Toro Nagashi Lantern Floating Ceremony
