Despite the Washington Department of Ecology’s decision denying a key permit, Millennium insists on moving forward with local land use permits from Cowlitz County, as well as a related permit from Ecology. We can’t stop fighting until Millennium officially throws in the towel. That’s why I’m asking you to join me at a public hearing. But don’t come just to testify. Come to celebrate. We’ll be celebrating YOU: your commitment to keeping your communities safe from toxic coal dust, mile-long coal trains, and stopping the largest proposed coal export terminal in North America.
If you’ve attended a rally, signed a petition, or volunteered at a “no coal” event, this party is for YOU! Remember to wear red and RSVP early!
Arrive by noon for the rally! Testimony begins at 1:00 pm and the community appreciation party from 5:00-7:00 pm. Note: the hearing begins at 9:00 am with presentations by Millennium and Cowlitz County staff. It is likely that these presentations will continue on November 3, 5, and 6. We encourage you to prioritize attendance on Thursday, November 2.
