Do you want to learn more about the latest science, available solutions, and the important role health professionals can play in advancing those solutions?
Are you interested in being an advocate for addressing climate change using your unique voice?
If you answered YES, then please join our upcoming training! Our members have presented Grand Rounds to their peers, spoken at public forums, taught classes at the UW School of Medicine and School of Public Health, testified in front of the state legislature, met with advisors in the Governor’s office, spoken at rallies and public hearings, penned op-eds, brought resolutions to state professional medical organizations, and more. Join us as we work to protect public health by fighting climate change from our unique platform as health professionals!

Learn about solutions, including policies to mitigate further climate change, strategies for preparing communities for worsening climate change, and actions that can simultaneously address climate change and promote improved health (co-benefits)
Learn strategies for effectively advocating for climate-protective policies and behaviors and for talking with others about climate and heath
Join a network of peers committed to learning about climate and health and finding ways to use your medical voice to make change
Get ongoing support from WPSR, including resources to learn more about climate’s effects on health, timely opportunities for targeted outreach and activism, and skill building for effective advocacy
What Will This Prepare Me to Do?
Be an effective medical leader working to raise recognition of climate change as a serious threat to public health
Advocate for policies that reduce pollution, address the causes of climate change and that will create healthier, sustainable communities
Speak to others, including colleagues and members of the public, about the causes and impacts of climate change and about the connections between climate change and health
Make a persuasive public testimonial to decision makers in favor of protective climate legislation and regulations
Write a compelling opinion piece or article on climate change and health issues and solutions
